H. R. 16--"Advocating the construction of a hiking/biking
trail along the Robert C. Byrd Highway (Corridor H) as it is
being completed from Elkins to the West Virginia/Virginia
border."
Whereas
, Such a trail would be over one hundred miles long
and West Virginia has no long distance hiking/biking trails; and
Whereas
, Such a trail would take hikers and bikers to some
of the most beautiful country that West Virginia has to offer;
and
Whereas
, Such a trail would increase the recreational
activities available to all West Virginians as well as visitors
to West Virginia; and
Whereas
, Such a trail would increase tourism, and the
revenue that comes with it, to West Virginia; and
Whereas
, Such a trail would further honor West Virginia's
senior senator, Senator Robert C. Byrd; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That the House of Delegates advocates the construction of a
hiking/biking trail along the Robert C. Byrd Highway (Corridor H)
as it is being completed from Elkins to the West
Virginia/Virginia border; and, be it

, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
is hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the
Governor and the West Virginia Congressional Delegation.
